Puff & Pout™
A character brand built from zero with AI

Puff & Pout™ is a character brand I created from scratch. Two cockatiels, Puff and Pout, and the small, cosy world they live in.
It started as short-form videos. It has grown into a consumer brand with its own IP, digital products, personalised content, a shop and an app. I did all of it: the characters, the creative direction, the content, the products and the design.
It is a different kind of project from my client work. There was no brief and no audience. The job was to build both, then monetise that audience.
Finding an audience
The characters are made with generative AI tools. Most of the work is in the parts AI does not do for you: a consistent look, personalities that hold up across hundreds of videos, and a tone people want to come back to.
The account reached 1 million followers within five months. The same question kept coming up in the comments: how did you make them? That question became Feather, now a live SaaS product with paying users.
Monetising the audience
The next step was monetising the audience. I started with digital products that were quick to make and easy to buy:
- Sticker packs that drop straight into WhatsApp
- Phone wallpaper packs
- Personalised birthday videos and e-cards
- A shop to sell them, with checkout, delivery and email built in

An app of its own
The products then moved into a dedicated app, now live on the App Store. Stickers, wallpapers and music in one place, free to download, with packs sold as in-app purchases.
I designed and built it with the same care as the brand: light and dark themes, sticker packs that go straight into WhatsApp, and purchases that restore across devices.

Protecting the IP
Copycat accounts followed the growth. I filed a UK trade mark for Puff & Pout™ in August 2026, and deal with copies as they appear.
The characters are the asset. Everything else, from the videos to the app, is built around keeping them consistent and recognisable.
